FENESTRATION BAU China: Highlights from the Supporting Program

2018-07-26

  •  Key topics: Sustainability, energy efficiency and green building
  • FENESTRATION BAU China brings future topics to the agenda

FENESTRATION BAU China (FBC), which will take place in Beijing from October 31 to November 3, 2018, will not only attract visitors with a wide range of building materials, construction IT, facades, windows and doors as well as Prefabrication Materials & Green Building and Energy Efficient & Smart Solutions/BIM. The specialized supporting program will also shed light on the future of the industry and pick up on brand-new topics—thus offering a crucial added value for exhibitors and visitors.

Fenestration Days China

It is well worth traveling to Beijing two days in advance, because the Fenestration Days China will already be taking place in the run-up to FBC, on October 29 and 30. This year, the established platform for the latest technologies and trends relating to windows and doors will focus on ‘Green, Safe and Intelligent—New Patterns of Fenestration Development in the Era of Industrialization’. Within the four thematic modules—Green Fenestration Trends and High Performance, Fenestration Intelligence and Intelligent Manufacturing, Fenestration Safety and Solutions as well as Case Studies—national and international experts will present innovative models and solutions for window and door systems.

BAU Congress China

Over the course of three days, BAU Congress China (BCC) will offer practice-oriented solutions for the Chinese construction industry. From October 31 to November 1, renowned national and international speakers from the architectural world will provide insights into exciting projects and thus offer new stimuli for the participants. Under the central theme “The Future of Building for China”, this year’s BCC is divided into five focus topics: ‘The Big Picture—Tomorrow’s Urban Design, Exemplary Projects’, ‘Smart Buildings—Simple Cities’, ‘Young Independent Architects—Human Scale Architecture’, ‘Future Building Technology: Energy, Process, and Building’ and ‘Cutting Edge Super Projects for China’. The following speakers, among others, have already confirmed their participation: Prof. Liu Wan (Tsinghua University), Kjetil Thorsen (Snøhetta), Satoshi Ohashi (Zaha Hadid Architects), Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gunnar Grün (Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics IBP), Philip F. Yuan (Tongji University), Wolfgang Frey (Frey Architekten Group/WFP Architekten), Stephan Schütz (gmp architects) as well as Martin Reuter (Ingenhoven Architects) and Ziyu Zhuang (RSAA).

Prefabrication & Green Building Forum

As a networking platform, the Prefabrication & Green Building Forum offers the participants an opportunity for the exchange on and discussion of trend topics. In addition, the European Federation for Precast Concrete (bibm) organizes expert presentations on topics such as 3D printing, multifunctional prefabricated concrete structures and networked energy systems.

The GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH) will also contribute to the agenda of the forum. Under the title “Prefabricated Buildings on the Road to Sustainable Development”, the GIZ will organize expert presentations and workshops on November 2 and 3.

Smart Building Showroom

Through the use of virtual reality glasses, the Showroom will provide visitors access to a hotel room. During a virtual tour of the room, visitors learn about the products and applications of participating exhibitors. Interested architects, planners and investors will thus get an overview of (facade) control, energy efficiency, home comforts and health.

Smart Buildings and Smart Communities Forum

Internet of things, big data, BIM, cloud computing: For the construction industry, digital information technologies offer opportunities for the design of individual buildings as well as entire cities. The city of the future is to be smart and networked. The Forum will take place on November 2 and will provide answers to questions on the topic. For example: How should intelligent buildings be designed to maximize access to the Internet of things? What are the trends for public buildings, for example for medical facilities?

Talk to Distributors

The ‘Talk to Distributors’ will take place on November 1. The four-hour marketing workshop for dealers from the window segment will demonstrate in an understandable and practical manner the possibilities of standing out in this highly competitive industry. In addition to keynote presentations, the focus will also be on the exchange on current operating models with specialist suppliers of leading companies.

Included in the ticket price

These are just a few examples from an extensive program of presentations, panel discussions and lectures in which numerous FBC partners are involved. For the Fenestration Days China a separate ticket is necessary. Access to all other events is included in the ticket for the exhibition.
