FENESTRATION BAU China becomes BAU China

2019-05-23

  • A new name to reflect the concept of the trade fair
  • About 650 exhibitors and over 100,000 attendees expected
  • Future Building Hall and China Architecture and Design Expo are well- established

The leading trade fair in the Asia-Pacific region for ‘Building Systems Solutions, High-End Technologies and Materials’ will take place for the first time as BAU China from November 5 to 8, 2019. Since its premiere in 2017 as FENESTRATION BAU China, exhibition segments have been integrated in line with BAU in Munich. The new name now better reflects the evolution and the variety of topics the event has to offer.

Under the umbrella of BAU China, five segments will from now on form the pillars of the event. FENESTRATION BAU China, being integrated into BAU China, continues to occupy the largest exhibition area. With the other segments, Architecture Solutions/CADE, Digitalization & Building Automation, Flooring as well as Roofing and Waterproofing, the total area of the trade fair is to continue to grow substantially. Reinhard Pfeiffer, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Messe München, is pleased: “With BAU China, we offer the industry a comprehensive platform and provide access to current and ideal solutions from all areas of the construction industry.”

A driving force for the Far East
About 650 national and international companies such as Elumatec, Jung, Reynaers, Reysta and Soudal will be presenting themselves to around 100,000 potential buyers expected to visit the eleven halls of the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC). In addition to the offerings of the exhibitors, there will again be a comprehensive supporting program tailored to the needs of the industry in China and picking up on trend topics of the industry. At the Prefabrication Materials & Green Building Forum in the Future Building Hall, for example, discussions will be held on how the construction of the future can implement the issues of sustainability, energy efficiency and smart solutions.
Following its premiere in 2018, the China Architecture and Design Expo (CADE) will take place again this year in cooperation with the Architectural Society of China. In Hall W5, architects will find stimuli for new design concepts, application trends, building materials and technologies. In keeping with the topic, the BAU Congress China will also be held in this hall. Under the central theme “The Future of Building in China”, the three-day congress will once again offer insights into practice-oriented solutions for the Chinese construction industry. The key topics are:
•    Future of Cities—National and International Planners
•    Re-Use of Chinese Heritage
•    Human Scale Architecture
•    Smart Solutions for Architecture and Urban Design
•    Digital Design for Visionary Architecture
National and international architects have already confirmed their attendance. Among them TeamMinus (Beijing), Junya Ishigami + associates (Tokyo), NODE Architecture and Urbanism (Hong Kong), Linehouse (Shanghai), UNStudio (Amsterdam), Crossboundaries (Beijing), BIG Bjarke Ingels Group (New York), JADE QA (Shanghai) and many more. The BAU Congress China will once again be organized by the architecture journal Bauwelt.

With the exhibition, the supporting program and the BAU Congress China, BAU China is the most important industry meeting point in the Middle Kingdom.
